Mr. Matthews has served as Executive Director of Mountain Island Charter School since 2013. Prior to joining the School, Mr. Matthews was a public school educator in the State of Florida for more than 15 years, holding positions as, founding Principal, Head of High School, and elementary and high school teacher. He also works with schools and state entities in Florida and North Carolina as an education consultant and with AdvancEd as a Lead External Review Evaluator.
